Located in coastal Maine, on the Penobscot Peninsula, Blue Poppy Garden is a landscape design service that offers sustainable design, installation and maintenance services for your evolving garden or new building site.

Our designs embrace the best of the English landscape movement with Japanese elements, inspired by the rocks, pines, moss and ferns of Maine. Although two very different styles, we find that they can be adapted and intertwined to great effect.

As part of our creative approach, we seek to leave in place everything that belongs and adds beauty, while enhancing and refining elements that require help. Drainage is often a big issue that must be resolved. Circulation paths are essential to defining the contours of the garden. Beyond that, walls, steps, driveways and plantings all become essential elements in most landscapes.
