Site Planning
Before starting any design work, we need to become thoroughly familiar with your site. Nothing is more important than understanding the slope of the land, how the water runs on it, soil and bedrock conditions, prevailing winds, the sun's path in all seasons, the value of existing vegetation and trees, potential views and the encroachment of adjacent structures. All must be mapped and understood within the existing land planning regulations before we can start a design.

Master Plans
A Master Plan, which can be installed over a 3-5 year period, provides a scale drawing of all the elements that will be included in the landscape. It initiates the conversation between client and designer to determine circulation, drainage, utilization and the details of the final construction process.

Planting Plans
A planting plan may be all that is needed to determine the color scheme and location of different plants for a planting bed around the house or in a discrete area of the garden. Such plans take only a few hours to draw up and provide an excellent guide to the quantity and type of plants that will look best in your garden.

Hourly Consultation
Sometimes you may simply want to talk to us for an hour or two to get ideas for your garden. We invite you to tour our gardens at 3 Flye Point Road to see what we have done here. We will also gladly come to your place to make suggestions and help you to determine what needs to be done next to achieve the garden of your dreams.

Installation
We employ several full-time helpers during the growing season. We also have developed a network of excellent stone masons, backhoe operators, wood clearing specialists and others, such as pruners and tree specialists who can help us in every stage of the installation process. We strongly recommend that you work with us during installation as many design decisions are made on the job site and require a sensitive eye to resolve any challenges that arise.

Maintenance
Following the Japanese principle that only through meticulous maintenance can a garden achieve its greatest glory, we will selectively take on clients whose long-term objective is to create and maintain a beautiful garden. We are very selective about this process, so please call us only if you want to work with us over the long-term and feel comfortable about constantly improving your garden as we get to know it.
